The capitalization thing really bugs me. It may seem like a little thing but it is significant. In another recent Kool Aid WT they had lowercase "holy spirit" and capitalized "Governing Body" in the same sentence or paragraph. Now they distinguish the first century "governing body" (which wasn't really a governing body at all) with the modern day "Governing Body." The hubris makes me want to puke.

6/15 WT- GB More Powerful than Worldwide Anointed- Don't Judge Partaking
by flipper inmore of the latest from the june 15th " witness only " watchtower.
under the article " the faithful steward and it's governing body " there were some very telling quotes which could indicate how the wt society is tightening the control of it's members - and trying to justify more partaking of the emblems at the memorial since the numbers partaking have gone up from about 8,000 to 10,000 since they no longer feel that the sealing of the anointed ended in 1935.. so first off, notice this quote indicating the importance of elevating the governing body over the rest of the anointed around the earth.
paragraph 16 it states , " are all these anointed ones throughout the earth part of a global network that is somehow involved in revealing new spiritual truths ?

Mike Vick is not only a reprehensible human being, he's not a good NFL QB. At his peak, he was unable to consistently read defenses or make accurate throws. And he's an incredibly stupid person on top of that. He'll be traded to some team like the Rams who are desperate at QB and they'll improve by winning 5 or 6 more games than last year, validating Vick in the minds of his fans. Nevertheless, he's never going to win a championship. He couldn't do it in college and he's far from capable of doing it in the NFL.
As for McNabb, he and Andy Reid need a separation. They'll both be better for it.

Paul said death means to GAIN!
by sacolton injehovah's witnesses teach that at death you completely cease to exist.
you become nothing (and gain nothing) and are conscience of nothing, but what does paul reveal to us about the mystery of death?
is the watchtower in harmony with the scriptures?

Even if you grant that the Bible has evidence of a perfect paradise earth for mankind, there is NO evidence that ANYone is destined to be resurrected there. NONE.

Yup, that's the policy. The Bible is written to, and for, the anointed. Only the parts of it that the GB/FDS decide apply to the other sheep, apply to the rest of mankind.

Plus the WT spin is that this scripture applies only to the 144k (10,857 alive and growing) of Revelation chapter 14.

Consolation September 1945: Refusing blood does not bear witness...
by Designer Stubble in"consolation" september 1945 contains the most contrary quote you can imagine: "when we lose our life because we refuse inoculations, that does not bear witness as a justification of jehovah's name.
god never issued regulations which prohibit the use of drugs, inoculations or blood transfusions.
it is an invention of people, who, like the pharisees, leave jehovah's mercy and love aside.

The Probabilty of there being an Intelligent Designer
by cantleave ini have been thinking a great deal about where i stand at this moment in time in terms of a belief in a creator verses a belief in an evolutionary process.
i think the best way to describe it is an exploratory path.
i look at what is around me and i acknowledge it is remarkable.

bohm: Perhaps, but now you're talking about building materials, not the builder (or lack thereof). The question, "if America was made of cheese prior to year 1200AC, was the cheese made by an intelligent source?" is philosophical.

Twilight movies
by darnkid indoes anyone know exactly what the society has said on the twilight movies?
is it a matter of conscience or a real no-no?
my children are witnesses, i am df'd so i can't say anything, but one of them indulges in these movies and books-the baptized one who won't visit me or talk to me unless absolutely necessary.

We had to sneak out to see Ghostbusters, but it was worth it. Never got caught, either.

I've just lost a Loved one
by AwSnap inthe thing that sucks is that they are very much alive & we are literally less than five miles apart from each other everyday.
i had a long talk with one of my siblings today.
i've been getting a really weird vibe lately...today it was confirmed that i will be shunned from here on out from them.

Sorry to hear that, Awsnap.
It's funny (not funny "ha ha", funny strange) how none of my worldly relatives shun me for being a JW but my JW relatives would surely shun me if they found out how I felt about the borg.
